The sixth edition of Camp Beer from Live it Big is taking place on Sunday, March 6th and will be featuring beers from Denmark and Norway. As reported by Ronnie Crocker at Beer, TX, there will be "7 of Mikkeller's Single Hop series, three of his Beer Geek beers and several from Nogne O and HaandBryggeriet". I've tried almost all of the Single Hop series and they're a great way to learn the flavours and characteristics of the different hops.
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Live It Big website starting at 8:00am on Friday. But you have to be quick, only 60 tickets are available and they'll be gone within hours (or less).

No Label Brewing Beer Dinner at The Public House
Its getting harder to keep up with all the beer events and dinners around town these days! I just found out that the Public House in Katy is hosting a four course beer dinner tomorrow night (January 25th) featuring five beers from No Label Brewing (also located in Katy). In addition to their already released Hefeweizen, Amber and Pale Ale, they'll be serving a couple of specialy beers that they've been working on. One is a Jalapeno beer and the other is a Blueberry Wheat. I only just found out about this dinner when the Public House tweeted that they only have a couple of tickets remaining. If you're interested, I'd contact them as soon as possible. Tickets are $50 per person.
Brooklyn Beer Dinner at Flying Saucer
Only weeks after its D'Achouffe beer dinner on January 13th, the Flying Saucer has announced their next Winter Beer Dinner will be on Monday, February 7th and will feature beers from Brooklyn Brewing. Cost is $50 for UFO members or $55 for non-members.
There's now a beer and cheese tasting and two beer dinners scheduled in February and a beer dinner for March. The beer culture in this town has really come a long way over the past few years.

Circle Brewing Releases First Beer
Circle Brewing is the latest of the new round of Texas breweries to release their first beer on tap. The Draught House in Austin will be the first bar to serve their 4.6% Blur Texas Hefe
"This Texas twist on the old German wheat beer brings with it a hint of caramel to a crisp and refreshing style. The hint of citrus plays off the light and creamy body to create a beer that has no rival whether you enjoy it in the sun or in the shade."
Congratulations Ben and Jud!

Left Hand Beer Dinner at Vic and Anthony's Steakhouse
Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse has developed a reputation for hosting fantastic beer dinners. Their next beer dinner is scheduled for Friday, Febrary 11th and will include 7 courses with beer from Left Hand Brewing. Tickets are $85 per person (plus tax and service charge). Their previous beer dinners have sold out long before the event, so I wouldn't wait to make a reservation if you're interested in attending.
